Terrell and Michelle Burgess met while serving as leaders in the DePaul Gospel Choir at DePaul University in Chicago. God used this dynamic duo even during their pre-marriage days to start a revival on campus that is still taking place in the lives of college students today,. After several years of godly dating and fully surrendering to God's revealed plan for their lives as a Kingdom Marital Team, they married June 24, 2000 and began a journey to bring about God's plan in the Earth as it is already established in Heaven.
Terrell and Michelle were tested shortly after their marriage with a challenging pregnancy that resulted in the pre-mature birth, and two days later, death of their first baby, Nishelle Lenae. Nishelle went back into the arms of Jesus right before their first year wedding anniversary. The happiness of their new marriage quickly turned into intense mourning, as they sought answers from God.
After several surgical procedures, Michelle discovered she had conceived again on the anniversary of her deceased daughters' first birthday the following year. What an incredible birthday gift from heaven! This pregnancy was met with much challenge, as all her pregnancies have been, but God was faithful...and today Pastors Terrell and Mcihelle are the proud parents of three strong children: WIlliam Terrell, Madisyn Lenae, and Michael Julian.
Pastors W. Terrell and Michelle believe in being life-long students. Pastor Terrell holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University, and Pastor Michelle holds a B.A. in Communication from DePaul University. Both Pastors are currently enrolled in the Share-A-Prayer-and-Word Theological Seminary in Whitewater, where they are pursuing their Special Masters degrees in Theology and Ministerial Training. They also serve as leaders at Kingdom Builders Church in Chicago under the leadership of Pastors Vince and Tiheta Hinton.
